About Me

Architect by Training, Foody by Nature

I created this website to share my love for the Mexican Food that has been part of my entire life.

I was born in Mexico City in 1975 and there is food everywhere you go, from fancy restaurants to street stands (food stand) where in fact you can find the most incredible dishes served by the most amazing and humble people, the real Mexican

From all the hundreds of types of tacos, tamales, sopes, carnitas, quesadillas, moles, tortas, etc. any Mexican can decide what to eat any time with a simple budget, if that situation wasn't lucky enough my Mom decided to study Gastronomy, and because of that I experienced my childhood between her chef quality dishes and street food one to other day she took a break.

Like everything else, food involve and change from the traditional to the contemporary, adapting to new influences and taste, in some cases traditional recipes are forgotten, and trying to go to the past to find them is some cases with a great effort or impossible task.

Now, as a grown up, I learn the importance to keep alive the traditional recipes, find them and share them to the world, I don't believe in secrets, that's is one of the reason of why some of the greatest flavors has been disappear from the books.

Also, I open my mind to the new contemporary changes, creating the "new" and the future traditional recipes of the Mexican Food, we can learn from anybody,

I am willing to research not only my Mom's recipes but also from those who are the spirit of the Mexican Gastronomy, the people who cook in those food stands on the streets, who learned the "real thing" from their Moms, Pop's and family keeping Mexico's name aloft.

You can find when a recipe is traditional or contemporary looking the Logo of the Mexican.

I hope we can have a great adventure cooking altogether and I wish I can share my good luck having this amazing experience with Mexican Food.

Gracias.
